1. Introduction

DynoTorque („the App“) is developed to measure vehicle acceleration and estimate engine torque and power using GPS and/or OBD-II data.

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

2. Information We Collect

DynoTorque is designed to operate primarily on data collected directly from your device and your vehicle.

The App may access:

  • GPS location (only while measuring vehicle performance)
  • Bluetooth connection (to communicate with an ELM327 OBD-II adapter)
  • Wi-Fi connection (when using Wi-Fi based OBD-II adapters)
  • Vehicle diagnostic data received from the OBD-II interface, including:
    • Engine RPM
    • Vehicle speed
    • Supported OBD information
  • Device sensors, including accelerometer and gyroscope, for calibration and measurement purposes.

DynoTorque does not collect:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Contacts
  • Photos
  • Messages
  • Financial information
  • Advertising ID for tracking purposes

3. How Your Data Is Used

Collected data is used exclusively to:

  • calculate vehicle acceleration
  • calculate engine torque and power
  • calibrate measurements
  • display live measurement values
  • improve measurement accuracy
  • generate measurement graphs
  • save vehicle profiles and measurement results

The App does not use collected data for advertising or profiling.

4. Data Storage

All vehicle profiles, measurements and settings are stored locally on your device.

DynoTorque does not upload measurement data to any server.

You remain the owner of all measurement data created using the App.

5. Data Sharing

DynoTorque does not sell, rent or share your personal information or measurement data with third parties.

The App communicates only with your local OBD-II adapter during measurements.

6. Permissions

Depending on Android version and selected features, DynoTorque may request the following permissions:

  • Location – required for GPS speed measurement and Bluetooth scanning.
  • Bluetooth – required to communicate with Bluetooth OBD-II adapters.
  • Nearby devices – required by newer Android versions for Bluetooth communication.
  • Wi-Fi – required when connecting to Wi-Fi based OBD-II adapters.
  • Storage access – required to save and load vehicle profiles and measurement files.

Permissions are used solely to provide the requested functionality.

7. Diagnostic Logs

If diagnostic logging is enabled, the App may store OBD communication logs locally on your device.

These logs may include:

  • connection status
  • protocol information
  • OBD commands
  • adapter responses
  • error messages
  • timestamps

Diagnostic logs are never uploaded automatically.

You may choose to share them manually with the developer when requesting technical support.

8. Third-Party Services

DynoTorque does not use analytics services or advertising SDKs.

If future versions introduce optional third-party services, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.

9. Children’s Privacy

DynoTorque is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
